The Grand Adventure is an album that celebrates life and was created in after-life. Johnny Fountain, Portland's rambling raconteur, left our earthly plane in December 2015 after a battle with cancer robbed him of his body. But his music remained. As his ashes were scattered across the ocean and mountains, his final recordings were unearthed.
Under the musical direction of his friends and local luminaries, Dominic Lavoie (Dominic & the Lucid, ShaShaSha) and Dan Boyden (Sister Sparrow & the Dirty Birds, Jason Spooner Band), Johnny's original songs -- featuring his voice and guitar -- have been fully realized with contributions from over a dozen musicians, including friends, former bandmates, and his own sister.
